Mechanical Testing of Palladium-Silver Hydrogen Purification Membranes

This opportunity seeks a qualified testing supplier to perform mechanical testing on palladium-silver membrane assemblies for hydrogen purification systems. The supplier must conduct slow strain rate tensile (SSRT) and strain-controlled fatigue testing at elevated temperatures (400-500°C) in pressurised hydrogen environments (up to 10 bar). In-situ hydrogen permeation testing before and during mechanical loading may also be required to evaluate membrane performance under operational conditions. The supplier will operate specialised laboratory facilities equipped for safe testing under high temperature and pressurised hydrogen, following industry standards and agreed procedures with full quality assurance and data traceability. Deliverables include comprehensive test reports with methodology, raw and processed data, analysis, and conclusions to support engineering assessment and future design of STEP fuel cycle hydrogen purification technology. This work will generate critical mechanical property data needed for development, qualification, and deployment of palladium-silver membrane systems.
