Bassetts Mead SANG Management Contract - April 2027 to March 2031

Hook Parish Council is seeking an experienced, local ecological organisation to manage Bassetts Mead as a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) for a five-year period from April 2027 to March 2031. The successful organisation must demonstrate proven experience in managing and maintaining SANG sites. Key responsibilities include: constructing and repairing countryside infrastructure; organising and coordinating volunteer working parties; managing contractors; grazing and managing cattle; and engaging with the public to promote use and understanding of the site. The organisation will work closely with the Parish Council's Environment and Community Officer, with quarterly meetings required to ensure all areas of the site are maintained to the highest standards. Applicants should have established expertise in ecological land management, volunteer coordination, livestock management, and community engagement.
