    Brief

Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner seeks a service provider to supply Custody Detention Officers (CDOs) working within police custody suites across the force area. The contract runs from 17 May 2027 for an initial 3-year period (to 16 May 2030) with options to extend by 12-month increments up to a maximum of 6 years total (ending 16 May 2033). The service is a partnership focused on effective, efficient operations meeting stakeholder needs with agreed staffing levels and appropriate gender balance. The provider must support trauma-informed practices, with particular emphasis on vulnerable persons care following the force's vulnerability suite development at Keyham Lane custody. CDOs will receive training on vulnerable people handling and must deliver services complying with all relevant custody policies, legislation, and guidance. The service includes occasional detainees held for other agencies (other police forces, Health & Safety Executive, Prison Service, and Immigration Enforcement), managed as standard operational activity.
