Financial Audit and Assurance Services Contract - Multiple Lots

The National Audit Office (NAO), the UK's independent public spending watchdog, is procuring Financial Audit and Assurance Services to deliver high-quality audits across the public sector. This contract involves 14 separate lots covering diverse audit areas including Crown Estate, Health, Pensions, Charities, Infrastructure, and other government entities. Partner Firms will deliver audits in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and UK public sector reporting frameworks, with the Comptroller and Auditor General retaining final audit opinion responsibility. Suppliers may bid for up to 8 lots of their choice. The contract runs for an initial 3-year period from September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2029, with an option to extend for a further 2 years until August 31, 2031. The estimated contract value is up to £68.293 million (inclusive of VAT), at approximately £13.659 million per annum. The new contract will commence with the 2026-27 audit cycle and cover audits for entities with March 31 year-ends. Additional financial audit-related services may be procured throughout the contract lifetime.
