    Brief

Suffolk Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner, Suffolk County Council, and Community Safety Partnerships across Babergh, East Suffolk, Mid Suffolk, Ipswich, and West Suffolk seek a research delivery partner to conduct a large-scale public survey on community safety perceptions. Background: A new Police and Crime Plan (2025-2029) has been developed with priorities focused on preventing crime and working with communities to make Suffolk safer. This survey will provide partners with resident insights to shape community safety partnership activities and enable long-term tracking of public perception against strategic priorities. Scope: The successful provider will design and deliver a comprehensive, representative survey of Suffolk residents to assess public perception of community safety and local policing. The research must be statistically robust and allow for analysis by district, demographics, and victim status to support evidence-based policy and practice decisions. Required Expertise: Providers must demonstrate extensive experience in large-scale primary research within community safety, policing, criminal justice, and victim/witness perspectives. The survey must be sufficiently large to enable meaningful segmentation and comparison across different population groups.
