Minor Adaptations and Aids Service for Council Properties

Sandwell Council is seeking a supplier to deliver the Minor Aids and Adaptations service for residential properties. A minor adaptation is defined as any alteration to a property costing less than £1,500.00 in total labour and materials. The service is provided free to eligible residents living in Sandwell Council properties and covers both proactive and responsive works. Works include the supply and installation of grab rails, handrails, stair rails, steps, key safes, newel rails, over-bath showers, drop arm rails, ramps, and shower equipment. The Council will determine access to the service and specify which works are required. Specific works may include widening doorways, filling staircase balustrades, installing ramps up to and exceeding 300mm rise, providing external steps, fitting handrails, shower seats and curtains, lever taps, thermostatic showers, and managing asbestos surveying and removal.
