    Brief

Wells-next-the-Sea town council is seeking a contractor to design, supply, and install new equipment additions to its established children's playground located on Beach Road beside the Quay. With a budget of £80,000, the project focuses on provision for under-5s and inclusive play. Required equipment includes: two inclusive swing seats plus one parent-and-toddler swing, an inclusive trampoline, an inclusive roundabout, a toddler activity house, and a toddler music activity station. The contractor must also construct accessible pathways suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, install appropriate safety surfacing beneath equipment, and manage all ground preparation and waste removal. Due to the seafront location, materials must be selected for durability and resistance to salt spray and coastal weather conditions. Site visits available upon request. Project commencement is targeted for early September 2026, with groundworks to begin by 30 September. A phase 2 development is planned for 2028.
