Independent Visitor Service for Children's Homes

Bradford Children and Families Trust (BCFT) is seeking an experienced provider to deliver an Independent Visitor Service for nine registered children's homes in Bradford, in line with Regulation 44 of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015. The role involves conducting at least 108 independent monthly visits per year to assess care quality, safeguarding practices, and child welfare. Visitors will engage with children, staff, families and professionals to capture views and experiences, conducting both announced and unannounced visits at varied times including evenings, weekends and holidays. Key responsibilities include producing timely, evidence-based reports identifying strengths, improvements, safeguarding concerns and recommended actions, while supporting continuous improvement and quality assurance across the Trust's homes. The contract is for three years with a possible one-year extension, valued at £240,000 excluding VAT. BCFT will appoint a single provider through a competitive tender under the Procurement Act 2023. The successful provider must demonstrate experience in residential children's services, regulatory compliance, and the ability to work collaboratively with Trust leadership and external professionals.
