Public Realm Services Contract - Herefordshire Council

Herefordshire Council is seeking a contractor to deliver comprehensive public realm services across the county for an initial 6 years and 10 months, with optional extensions up to a maximum of 10 years from the start date of 1st June 2026. The contract value is estimated at £11,784,765.19 excluding VAT annually, with a total cumulative contract value not to exceed £200 million over the full term. Core services include: network resilience and civil emergencies, winter maintenance, reactive pothole and patching repairs, carriageway and footway maintenance programmes, drainage and gully cleansing, street lighting and traffic signals, bridge and culvert maintenance, street cleaning and fly-tipping removal, fleet management and mechanical workshop services, parks and open spaces maintenance including highway verges and trees, bereavement services (cemeteries and burials), bus shelter maintenance, public art maintenance, and public right of way works. The successful contractor will be responsible for maintaining and managing multiple aspects of the county's public infrastructure and services. Annual service volumes may vary based on council instructions within the available budget, and contract pricing includes indexation adjustments.
