Conservation and Cleaning of Historical Birth, Marriage and Death Registers

This project involves the collection of historical birth, marriage, and death registers and associated indexes from register offices across East Sussex. The registers require professional conservation and cleaning services to remove contamination including mould, fungi, pest damage, and other deterioration. Once cleaned and conserved, the registers will be returned to The Keep (East Sussex's archive service) for permanent storage and public access. Successful suppliers should have expertise in archival conservation, experience handling fragile historical documents, and the ability to safely remove biological contaminants while preserving the integrity and legibility of original records.
