    Brief

Birmingham Virtual School is commissioning an early intervention and prevention Educational Well-Being Service to support looked-after children, previously looked-after children, and children known to social care in Birmingham. The service aims to maximise educational achievement, inclusion and progression by addressing individual needs through two key focus areas: (1) preparing children and young people for and supporting them through national examinations and tests including SATs, GCSEs, and A-Levels; and (2) supporting vulnerable children through school transitions at critical stages including transitions from Primary to Secondary and into Post-16 education, employment or training. The service will deliver tailored programmes and direct support to help children revise for exams, build confidence, and successfully navigate key transition points in their education. The contract will commence on 2nd January 2027 for an initial period of 3 years, with an optional 1-year extension subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. This is a retender opportunity.
