    Brief

The University of Bath is seeking suppliers to design, manufacture, deliver, install, and commission a high temperature superconducting (HTS) rotor with an integrated rotating cryostat system. The system must include HTS rotor magnets, cryogenic rotating seal, vacuum pumping interface, slip rings, and rotating signal acquisition. Key technical specifications include REBCO coils operating at 25 K or below with helium gas circulation cooling at 10+ bar, an air-gap magnetic field of 0.8 T or higher, and compatibility with the University's existing stator, motor drive platform, and Stirling SPC-1T cryogenerator. The system must comply with all applicable UK standards, feature high-vacuum insulation with multi-layer thermal insulation, include temperature and magnetic field sensors, and prioritize ease of use for non-expert operators. Suppliers should demonstrate reliability, robustness, and user-friendliness while considering environmental impact and power efficiency. Installation includes all parts and labour with short lead times preferred. Comprehensive training for at least two facility staff members and a minimum 12-month fully-comprehensive post-commissioning warranty are required, along with strong post-warranty service contracts and lifetime aftermarket support including remote technical assistance.
