Architect-Led Design Team for Mayo County Council Civic Space Upgrade

Mayo County Council is seeking a qualified architect-led integrated design team to deliver comprehensive consultancy services for the Áras an Chontae Ground Floor Civic Upgrade Project in Castlebar. The project involves refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Council Chamber, Main Reception Foyer, three meeting rooms, circulation routes, and accessibility upgrades within the ground floor of this operational civic building. Key deliverables include: full design progression from preliminary to detailed design stages; compliance with Fire Safety and Disability Access Certificate (DAC) requirements; assessment and upgrade of three ground floor entrances, internal corridors, external interfaces, ramps, and approach routes; Part 8 statutory planning documentation; tender package preparation; contractor procurement support; and full construction stage services including contract administration and project close-out. The design must address means of escape, accessible routes, entrance configurations, and building access arrangements. Work will be conducted within a live operational building, requiring careful phasing, stakeholder engagement planning, and continuity of services management. Suitable candidates should demonstrate experience with civic/public buildings, accessibility compliance, and complex urban renovation projects.
