Founders Main Lecture Theatre Fire Exit Widening

The University's Founders Main Lecture Theatre requires fire exit improvements to increase occupancy capacity. Health & Safety review has determined that one of two exits must be discounted, leaving only a single 850mm wide exit that currently limits capacity to 110 people. This project involves widening the second exit from 850mm to 1050mm to increase the theatre's safe occupancy capacity to 165 people. Suppliers should be prepared to undertake structural modifications to the exit doorway while maintaining compliance with fire safety regulations and building codes. Work will ensure the theatre meets current Health & Safety requirements for emergency egress.
