New SEND School Buildings Construction - Wigan

Wigan Council is procuring main construction works for relocating Hope School and College to Central Park Site, Montrose Avenue, Wigan. Hope School is a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school serving pupils with severe learning difficulties and profound and complex physical/medical needs across the borough. The project involves constructing three new buildings: (1) a primary school building with 13 classrooms, hydrotherapy pool, kitchen, rebound room, and reception (2,387m²); (2) a secondary school building with 10 classrooms, dining hall, reheat kitchen, and seven specialist resource rooms including art, food technology, and ICT facilities (1,586m²); and (3) an adapted existing 2-storey building for administration and specialist provision for pupils with the most complex needs (1,455m²). External works include a car park with drop-off area, playgrounds, and soft landscaping. Estimated value: £18 million. The procurement uses a two-stage Competitive Flexible procedure. Stage 1 invites suppliers to submit a pre-qualification questionnaire with scored assessment to identify a shortlist.
