Heavy Overhaul Service for London Underground Switch Tilter Wagons and Lifting Equipment

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking a qualified supplier to perform comprehensive heavy overhaul services on London Underground Switch Tilter (LUST) wagons and associated lifting equipment. The project involves the complete refurbishment of 8 LUST wagons, 6 lifting beams, and 64 pairs of cross and connecting beams. Work Scope: The supplier will conduct full strip-down, inspection, overhaul, repair, testing, and re-certification of all assets, including comprehensive servicing of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, structural, braking, and safety systems. Key Requirements: - Completion of all mandatory overhaul and remediation activities per TfL Technical Specification and London Underground standards - LOLER-compliant inspection and certification of all lifting equipment - Non-destructive testing (NDT), functional testing, and quality assurance activities - Provision of complete technical documentation, test results, and operational certification - Workshop-based delivery in a controlled environment with professional management of materials, consumables, and specialist subcontractors Scope Details: The supplier must demonstrate capability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously while adhering to defined programme timelines. TfL may supply certain components or materials, and suppliers should provide transparent pricing for optional parts and consumables. The objective is to return all assets to safe, compliant, and fully serviceable condition, meeting minimum operational life requirements and supporting TfL's planned engineering and operational goals.
