    Brief

The Connecting the Culm (CtC) project works with nature and local communities to improve the River Culm catchment for wildlife and people while increasing resilience to flooding and drought. This tender focuses on implementing nature-based solutions at two sites near Tiverton Parkway: Mount Stephens Farm and Little Turberfield. These sites will address water quality failures caused by M5 motorway outfalls using filtration systems designed to remove sediment and pollutants from the Spratford Stream. The project uses the National Highways HEWRAT tool to determine appropriate mitigation measures. Suppliers will be responsible for designing and implementing environmental solutions that improve water quality and increase biodiversity in the catchment area. This work is part of the broader 25-year CtC Blueprint for Delivery, which has been operating for 8 years with complementary projects involving Network Rail, DRIP funding, and Grant in Aid support.
