Waste Management Services Contract - North Tyneside Council

North Tyneside Council is seeking a waste management contractor to handle approximately 77,000 tonnes of waste annually across all treatment types including energy from waste, landfill, composting, recycling, and reuse. The successful contractor will be responsible for: transferring and managing all residual waste; operating the Council's transfer station; managing and operating the household waste recycling centre; and handling kerbside and garden waste collection and treatment. The Council prioritizes integrating waste management hierarchy principles into the contract, focusing on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, energy recovery, and responsible disposal. This is a significant contract opportunity following pre-market engagement and a market event held in July 2025. The contractor will work closely with the Council to achieve the objectives outlined in the North Tyneside Plan while ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient waste management operations.
