Brief
This Dynamic Purchasing System establishes a pool of qualified suppliers to provide forest field data collection services. We are seeking suppliers who can support one or more of the following service areas:
Service Areas:
- National Forest Inventory (NFI) and Trees Outside of Woodlands (TOW) surveys
- Installation and maintenance of surveying and monitoring equipment for National Capital Ecosystem Assessment (NCEA) projects
- Forest Mensuration, Production surveys (such as U18), and Forest Attribute Surveys
- Data collection from experimental research sites
Key Responsibilities:
Successful suppliers may be required to undertake woodland surveys, forest production surveys, forest attribute surveys, and storm/windblown damage assessments. Work will involve GIS mapping and spatial data collection, tree species identification (particularly from the NFI species list), woodland surveying using GPS and field equipment, habitat classification using National Vegetation Classification (NVC) systems, stakeholder engagement and access permissions, lone working in remote and urban environments with full health and safety compliance, and accurate data submission using Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Experience:
We particularly value suppliers with experience in GIS technology, handheld GPS devices, and field survey techniques. We are also interested in exploring emerging technologies such as Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and terrestrial-based LiDAR for future projects. Suppliers do not need to offer all services, and requirements will vary by individual mini-competition.
