    Brief

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) is procuring Phase 2 of the National Measurement System (NMS) Programme. Following market engagement activities conducted from 20th to 3rd September 2025, during which no alternative suppliers expressed interest in delivering the complete programme, DSIT has decided to maintain the existing aggregated contract structure for the multi-year Phase 2 contracts. This approach aims to drive operational efficiencies, reduce administrative overheads, and create additional capacity to support wider business objectives. The contract covers nine separate NMS programmes delivered under a consolidated structure. Future NMS iterations will include market engagement opportunities to assess supplier interest in delivering all or part of the NMS programmes.
