Stray Dog Collection, Kennelling and Re-homing Services

This contract seeks a supplier to provide comprehensive stray dog management services on behalf of the Council, including collection of stray dogs in accordance with the Environmental Protection Act 1990 section 149(1) and The Control of Dogs Order 1992. Key service components include: immediate return of microchipped or identified dogs to their owners; proactive efforts to reunite dogs with owners and provision of responsible dog ownership advice; full boarding and kennelling facilities for all collected stray dogs; 24/7 out-of-hours collection and kennelling capability; re-homing of unclaimed dogs to suitable new homes; monthly performance reporting with detailed service breakdowns, key performance indicator compliance, cost analysis, and follow-up actions; bi-annual review meetings to assess service performance and address operational matters; and transition support at contract end to facilitate new arrangements and service continuity. The supplier must demonstrate capacity to manage the full lifecycle of stray dog care while maintaining high welfare standards and operational excellence.
