North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust seeks a provider to deliver safe and efficient non-emergency patient transportation services. The service will transport patients discharged from treatment at University Hospital of North Tees (UHNT) and University Hospital of Hartlepool (UHH), as well as between other healthcare facilities and patients' places of residence. Operations must cover 7 days per week, 24 hours daily, with occasional support for patients at home. The service is restricted to NHS patients who meet Department of Health eligibility criteria for non-emergency transport (as defined September 19, 2007). Journey routes include transfers between hospitals, healthcare facilities, and residences (including homes, nursing homes, hospices, and treatment centres). The contract is governed by Department of Health guidance on Ambulance Services commissioning and non-emergency patient transport eligibility. This is a Direct Award C contract being offered to the existing provider (EMED Group) based on their satisfactory performance.
