    Brief

The UK Space Agency's Office of the Chief Engineer is seeking information from space payload and technology providers about emerging technologies that could benefit from in-orbit demonstration (IOD). This Request for Information (RFI) aims to understand: which UK-developed payloads and technologies would benefit from IOD; their technical requirements; current barriers to market entry; the specific advantages of orbital demonstration over ground testing; and how government can best support bringing these innovations to market. Responses will inform the Agency's future IOD programme strategy and eligibility for potential government support. The UK Space Agency will host an in-person workshop for selected respondents to discuss findings and explore collaboration opportunities. All responses will be treated confidentially where commercially sensitive, though information may be anonymised and shared across government departments for policy development. Deadline for submission: 22 September 2026.
