Brief

This scheme will enhance active travel infrastructure on Shadsworth Road and Haslingden Road in Blackburn through a comprehensive program of improvements. Work includes: removal of kerbed centre islands; alteration of existing zebra crossing; associated electrical works; relocation of kerbline and footway widening; footway reconstruction where necessary; alterations to existing advertising signage; removal and provision of new footway markings; footway surface overlay using tarmac materials or slurry seal; and carriageway patching. These improvements are designed to create safer, more accessible routes for pedestrians and cyclists while enhancing the overall quality of the public realm in the area.
