Supply of Mirror Systems for Diamond Light Source I14 Beamline Upgrade

Diamond Light Source (DLS) is a world-leading research facility located on the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire. DLS enables researchers from academia and industry to investigate matter at the atomic and molecular level. The facility is undergoing a major upgrade to Diamond-II, which will significantly enhance speed, spatial resolution, and user access to advanced instruments for life and physical sciences research. This contract involves the complete design, supply, manufacture, assembly, test, delivery, installation, and commissioning of two mirror systems (M1 and M2) for the I14 Imaging Beamline. The I14 beamline is a long hard X-ray beamline dedicated to hard X-ray nano-focusing experiments, where exceptional stability and vibration control are critical to success. Suppliers must demonstrate that their proposed designs meet stringent vibration and stability requirements through: (1) finite element analysis (FEA) simulations, and (2) evidence of test data and performance history from comparable mirror systems previously delivered.
