    Brief

Worcestershire County Council's Public Health Team is seeking market engagement and information from organizations experienced in conducting research with health, local authority, and voluntary and community sector (VCS) services. The council aims to develop a comprehensive gambling needs assessment to understand the scale of gambling-related harms in Worcestershire and identify effective harm reduction and prevention strategies. Following the UK Government's introduction of a new statutory levy on gambling operators (effective April 2025), which funds research, prevention, and treatment initiatives for gambling-related harms across Great Britain, the council is inviting feedback from research providers, VCS organizations, SMEs, and local Worcestershire-based suppliers with proven experience working with statutory and community services. This is a market engagement opportunity to gather insights that will inform the development of evidence-based approaches to addressing gambling harms in the region.
