    Brief

The Council is seeking to provide specialist after-school services for children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs, including those requiring personal care and medical support. This service fulfils statutory obligations under the Children Act 1989 and Children and Families Act 2014 by offering respite care and short breaks for disabled young people and relief for their families at the end of the school day. Service providers will deliver child-centred play and leisure activities during weekday term times, with sessions running between 1-3 hours. Activities should be enjoyable, stimulating, and tailored to meet individual needs. This is an established contract opportunity with two providers already awarded contracts (The Markfield Project and Tower Gardens Community Centre) at £100,000 each. Contracts run for 18 months from 1 May 2026 to 31 October 2027. Organisations interested in providing these services should have expertise in supporting children with disabilities and delivering inclusive, engaging activities.
