24/7 Secure Patient Transport Service

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust seek qualified providers for a comprehensive Secure Patient Transport service. This service will transport patients detained under the Mental Health Act, including both sectioned patients and voluntary patients at risk of absconding, self-harm, or harm to others. The service must operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year (including weekends and bank holidays) with vehicles available on demand to ensure patient safety and timely transport. The contract duration is 3 years with an optional 2-year extension. To maintain adequate regional coverage, the trusts will award contracts to the two highest-ranked providers under a dual award model. Interested organizations should demonstrate capability in secure transport operations, staff training, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with mental health legislation.
