    Brief

Hywel Dda University Health Board (HDUHB) is commissioning a research provider to conduct a comprehensive study on healthy ageing to support service planning, identify unmet health needs, and inform commissioning and policy decisions. Research Focus: The study will examine adults aged 40 years and over, recognizing that healthy ageing prevention is most effective when started earlier in life. It will investigate how different population groups perceive and engage with healthy ageing services. Key Research Objectives: • Generate population insights on healthy ageing needs and behaviours • Map the current market and service landscape • Understand behavioural patterns and communication preferences • Provide strategic insights to guide commissioning decisions Methodology: The research will use a mixed-methods approach combining quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, and secondary data analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of healthy ageing needs, experiences, and future opportunities for service improvement across the HDUHB area. Expected Outcomes: The findings will enable the Health Board to design informed strategies, identify service gaps, improve preventative health outcomes, and enhance service delivery for the population served.
