Optical Transceiver Testing Equipment Supply, Delivery and Installation

The University of Strathclyde seeks to procure an optical transceiver tester as part of the National Centre for Advanced Semiconductor Packaging (NCASP) initiative. This equipment must be capable of performing comprehensive testing of optical transceivers for photonic packaging applications. NCASP is establishing a sovereign, open-access semiconductor packaging facility to address critical UK market gaps in photonics and power electronics assembly and testing. The facility will enable UK innovators to scale production domestically, reducing reliance on overseas Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facilities, minimizing supply chain fragmentation, shortening lead times, reducing intellectual property risks, and protecting critical technologies from geopolitical disruption. The optical transceiver tester will be a key component supporting high-volume packaging, testing, and metrology capabilities that connect UK device design to domestic manufacturing, accelerating time-to-market and retaining value within the UK economy.
