    Brief

The Improvement and Development Agency for Local Government (IDeA), operating as Partners in Care and Health (PCH), is seeking experienced financial reviewers to conduct short-term strategic financial analysis for local authorities delivering adult social care services. This opportunity is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) through a Grant Funding Agreement with IDeA. Role Overview: You will undertake bespoke financial reviews focused on adult social care within the corporate context of local authorities. Working as part of a small pool of specialists, you will support councils facing significant financial challenges to improve their financial management and service delivery. Background: Since 2017, PCH has provided financial advisory services to local authorities on adult social care. The programme, offered to councils without charge, is a trusted network for developing best practice, sharing tools and techniques, and building sector connections. This work is currently led by the National Care & Health Improvement Adviser for Finance, supported by a team of financial reviewers. What You Need: Relevant individuals with appropriate financial analysis skills, adult social care sector knowledge, and experience in local government finance are encouraged to express interest. Successful candidates should be available for short-term project-based engagements. Important Terms: This contract is conditional upon IDeA maintaining a valid Grant Funding Agreement with DHSC. Should funding be reduced, withheld, or terminated, or if delivery requirements change, IDeA reserves the right to vary, suspend, or terminate the contract with written notice, with payment limited to services properly delivered prior to termination.
