Brief

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) seeks a 24/7/365 monitored lone worker safety solution to protect approximately 65 staff members (expandable to 85) who work alone and face risks of physical/verbal abuse, accidents, illness, or injury. The solution must include a 24/7/365 alarm receiving centre (ARC) staffed to monitor alerts and manage escalation protocols within agreed timescales. RBFRS requires flexible options combining mobile phone applications, stand-alone devices, or both, enabling staff to raise alarms discreetly or overtly depending on circumstances. The solution should be discrete, reliable, robust, and user-friendly with minimal training requirements. Staff will select equipment based on their role and type of lone working activities. The Health and Safety Team will manage supply and usage monitoring, with team managers overseeing escalation contacts. Equipment selection is determined through formal risk assessments conducted by the responsible Head of Service.
