Paediatric Whole-Body MRI Surveillance Services for Inherited Cancer Syndromes

This procurement opportunity invites qualified healthcare providers to deliver specialised whole-body MRI (WBMRI) and brain MRI scanning services for children with three rare inherited cancer predisposition syndromes: Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), constitutional mismatch repair deficiency syndrome (CMMRD), and rhabdoid tumour predisposition syndrome (RTPS). Services are being procured across six geographical regions in England: London & East of England, Midlands, North East, Yorkshire, North West, and South East. Providers must be based in and operate from their designated region. Key responsibilities include: providing and interpreting WBMRI and brain MRI scans; establishing referral pathways with clinical and genetics services; demonstrating expertise in imaging interpretation with access to experienced radiologists and multidisciplinary teams; offering scanning under general anaesthetic when needed; maintaining information governance standards for data sharing; engaging with patient support groups; supporting transition between paediatric and adult services; and meeting CQC quality standards and NHS facilities guidance. Successful providers will enhance early cancer detection for vulnerable paediatric patients through coordinated surveillance networks with regional genetics services and referring clinicians. Organisations must have established capacity, expertise in cancer predisposition syndromes, and capability to collaborate across imaging networks.
