Flood Risk Studies for Four Essex Communities

Essex County Council is seeking a contractor to conduct comprehensive flood risk studies across four Critical Drainage Areas (CDAs): Broomfield Central, Stock Road, Hockley, and Lower Hockley. The project will establish baseline flood damage assessments and identify properties at risk for various rainfall scenarios. The contractor will develop a long-list of potential flood mitigation options based on local water flow patterns and property vulnerability, then work with ECC to refine these into a prioritized short-list for detailed modelling. Finally, the contractor will provide high-level cost-benefit analyses comparing the effectiveness and economic viability of each proposed option. This work supports ECC's statutory obligation as Lead Local Flood Authority to manage flood risks from rainfall, watercourses, and groundwater sources.
