Town Centre Safety and Hospitality Service

Opportunity to provide a managed street marshal service that enhances safety, welcomes, and supports town centre visitors and businesses. Street marshals will be trained, certified professionals who patrol the town centre to create a friendly and secure environment, reducing anti-social behaviour and crime while encouraging increased footfall and economic growth. Key responsibilities include: engaging with shoppers and visitors to ensure safety; working with local businesses, residents, community groups, and police to identify and address anti-social behaviour hotspots; supporting business reporting of incidents (verbal abuse, shoplifting, crime) through digital platforms such as UKPAC; and providing real-time communication and coordination via radio systems. Marshals should hold relevant certifications and training including SIA security, conflict management, safeguarding, first aid, and awareness of contemporary issues such as violence against women and girls, anti-racism, and LGBTQA+ inclusion. The service will position the town centre as a vibrant, safe destination that attracts visitors and investment.
