Supply of Vertical and Lateral Dampers for Victoria Line Fleet Heavy Overhaul

This is a goods-only procurement for the supply of 1,480 vertical and 729 lateral dampers, estimated at approximately £559,345, to support the Victoria Line Fleet Heavy Overhaul Program Lift (HOPL) project. These dampers are critical suspension components that connect the bogies (wheelsets) to the car body. They serve to absorb vibrations, control excessive movement, and ensure smooth and stable rides by managing vertical bumps and lateral (side-to-side) swaying, thereby enhancing passenger comfort and reducing noise. The dampers isolate the car body from track imperfections, which is especially important for high-speed lines with higher frequency vibrations. Suppliers should be experienced in manufacturing or supplying railway suspension dampers that meet London transport specifications and quality standards.
