    Brief

Transport for London (TfL) has established a framework for the removal, decommissioning, scrapping, and recycling of aging rolling stock across the London Underground network. The framework is divided into two lots: Lot 1 for road haulage and removal, and Lot 2 for rail haulage and removal. TfL will appoint two suppliers to Lot 1 and three suppliers to Lot 2 through mini-competitions or direct awards. The immediate priority is supporting the Piccadilly Line Upgrade by removing and scrapping the 1973 Tube Stock fleet as new 2024 Tube Stock trains are introduced, with activities commencing in spring 2027 and concluding in 2028. Additional projects anticipated include Bakerloo Line 72TS rolling stock and Heavy Haulage Vehicles disposal (subject to future funding approvals). The estimated total framework value is approximately £16 million. Suppliers should have expertise in rail and/or road removal, decommissioning, recycling, and disposal of large transport assets.
