    Brief

This project seeks a provider to develop and deliver a culturally competent workforce training programme for frontline healthcare and family support professionals, including midwives, health visitors, and wider family support staff. The programme will equip these professionals with knowledge and skills to support families affected by inherited genetic conditions associated with consanguinity (blood relations). The provider will deliver training through hybrid sessions combining in-person and online formats, create e-learning resources, and conduct evaluation activities. Key outcomes include: increased awareness of genetic risk among professionals, improved confidence in discussing sensitive health topics with families, strengthened referral pathways to genetic and screening services, and promotion of informed decision-making. The overall objective is to improve access to support services, enable earlier identification of at-risk families, and achieve more equitable health outcomes for affected communities.
