Seafront Stabilisation and Public Realm Enhancement Project in Swanage

This transformational coastal regeneration project will stabilise, protect and enhance a key section of Swanage's seafront on the south coast. The Design & Build contract covers ground stabilisation works (soil nailing, slope regrading, retaining walls), public realm improvements (landscaping, accessible facilities, plaza areas, paths and viewpoints), supporting infrastructure (drainage and utilities), demolition of a WWII structure, road infill works, installation of 46 beach huts, service connections, and enhanced planting. The contractor will be responsible for detailed design and full construction delivery under an NEC Engineering and Construction Contract. Procurement is expected to commence in November 2026, with contract start in March 2027 and a 27-week construction programme running from September 2027 to March 2028.
