    Brief

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council (TMBC) is seeking to develop and deliver a comprehensive leisure and wellbeing service comprising three core elements: Leisure and Active Wellbeing Centres, Active Communities programmes (health, wellbeing, and sports development), and System Leadership (advice and guidance services). TMBC operates a portfolio of modern leisure facilities, including the Tameside Wellness Centre which opened in 2020. Recent condition surveys indicate the need for a lifecycle investment programme across existing facilities. TMBC is developing a Leisure Investment Strategy (informed by the Leisure Build Facilities Strategy and an upcoming Playing Pitch Strategy) to guide investment and development of the leisure portfolio over the next 5-10 years. Key priorities include: developing a new facility to replace Ashton Leisure Centre (closed in 2023) and evaluating development options for Active Copley based on the facility's age and condition. This presents opportunities for suppliers to support facility development, management, and leisure service delivery.
