    Brief

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is seeking qualified organisations or individuals to develop and deliver a comprehensive 18-month programme promoting Irish and Ulster Scots languages within the borough. The programme aims to build understanding and appreciation of these linguistic traditions, address sectarianism and intolerance, and encourage daily use and promotion of both languages. Key deliverables include recruiting 160 participants, establishing advisory panels for both language communities, delivering educational programmes exploring linguistic traditions, organising cross-border study visits to Scotland and Ireland, conducting 2 borough-wide learning projects, hosting 2 public showcase events, and creating promotional materials. Each participant must receive minimum 26 hours of engagement. The successful applicant will manage project activities, produce monthly progress reports, conduct monitoring and evaluation aligned with PEACEPLUS guidelines, and work collaboratively with the Council. Funding of €149,270 (excluding VAT) is available with staged fund releases tied to project milestones and outputs. All activities must be completed by January 2028, with project commencement within 6 weeks of contract award. The Council welcomes partnerships between multiple organisations or individual submissions that collectively demonstrate relevant expertise and innovation in community development and language promotion.
