Technical Support for HS2 Project

The UK Government is developing HS2 Phase One, a high-speed rail link connecting London and the West Midlands. This project involves complex interactions with the Strategic Road Network (SRN), necessitating careful design and operational planning. We are seeking a consultant to provide technical advice on outstanding HS2 interfaces with the SRN, which include various overbridges and viaducts, as well as improvements to key junctions. To ensure the performance, safety, and operational continuity of the SRN during the HS2 Phase One construction, National Highways requires specialized expertise in geotechnical and drainage matters. The consultant will help manage the technical complexities and ground engineering challenges that affect SRN assets. The services will include coordinating geotechnical and drainage assessments, ensuring compliance with design standards, mitigating ground-related risks, and managing interface dependencies that exceed the capacity of National Highways' core resources. Under National Highways' direction, this support will help proactively identify and control geotechnical and drainage risks, meet technical assurance requirements, and ensure that HS2 works progress efficiently without compromising the safe operation of the SRN.
