Conservation Architecture and Engineering Design Services for Margam Castle Heritage Project

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council seeks a conservation architect-led multidisciplinary design team to support the 'Reimagining Margam Castle' project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF). The project runs until February 2028. The appointed consultant will serve as lead consultant, lead designer, and principal designer under the Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations. The multidisciplinary team must include conservation architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering, and structural and civil engineering disciplines. The successful bidder must hold industry-standard qualifications and be conservation accredited (AABC, RIBA SCA, or equivalent), with demonstrated experience in large, complex heritage settings. The consultant must understand the requirements for Scheduled Monuments and Listed Buildings, with preference given to organisations with experience working on heritage projects in Wales. The role involves developing a Round 2 application to NLHF to unlock full project funding.
