Two-Year Contract Extension for Environmental and Street Scene Services

The extension is necessary to maintain service continuity while the Council addresses new waste legislation requirements, secures a new depot site, and allows time to plan a competitive procurement process for a long-term successor arrangement under the Procurement Act 2023. Key modifications include: incorporating garden waste income into the main contract sum, adjusting profit-sharing arrangements, adding weed spraying as a standard service, reducing public toilet maintenance liability, and updating the lease for the Willmott Lane depot site. The Council considers these changes non-material as they reflect operational realities and, in some cases, reduce costs. The contractor's guarantor will be incorporated into the deed of variation.
