University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Service Provider to deliver a comprehensive managed equipment service covering diagnostic and radiotherapeutic equipment, clinical robots, and associated medical consumables. The service will include equipment purchasing, financing, installation, and maintenance across imaging, catheter labs, hybrid theatres, mammography, radiotherapy, and pharmacy robotics systems. The Service Provider will manage the procurement and supply of specified consumables including implantable cardiac devices (TAVI valves, pacemakers, defibrillators), stents, catheters, and contrast media, with responsibility for inventory control, stock level monitoring, stock rotation, usage reporting, and wastage prevention. The supplier must employ and train sufficient inventory control staff and manage third-party involvement as needed. All consumables must meet legal, clinical, and regulatory requirements with appropriate product traceability for implantable medical devices. The Trust requires vendor-independent solutions based on clinical choice, transparent pricing with competitive market analysis, and demonstration of how best value will be secured through market leverage and economies of scale. This managed service model aims to provide cost-effective access to the latest medical technologies without capital investment burden while supporting ongoing maintenance and financial improvements. The procurement will be delivered via the NHS Commercial Solutions Managed Equipment Services Framework using a PA 23 Competitive Flexible Procedure, with a proposed contract term of 10+5 years subject to change.
