    Brief

    Frome Town Hall requires planned external maintenance works based on a maintenance report commissioned in July 2024 and updated in February 2026. The project will address building exterior priorities identified in year 1 of the maintenance schedule. Scope of works includes: - Rainwater goods: Repair and refurbishment of cast iron and UPVC guttering and downpipes - External walls: Stone repairs and cleaning to all elevations, repointing of deteriorated mortar joints, integrity checks of ornate pinnacles and parapet balustrades - External joinery: Timber fascia and soffit boarding, removal and replacement of decayed timber sections, and decoration - Front entrance: Remedial repair to steps and stone balustrade including rebedding loose stone, filling joints, and repainting nosings - Stone boundary walls: Repair of cracked car park wall and stone capings at left elevation - Elliott building: Fixing loose and lifting cladding panels and renewal of open joints Contractors must provide detailed cost breakdowns, all relevant plans and material specifications for approval before work commences. All necessary licences and permissions (waste storage/removal, scaffolding, etc.) must be in place and maintained throughout the project.
