Winter Farm Operations and Salt Distribution Service

This contract provides comprehensive winter operations services at Friesland Farm, functioning as a dedicated facility for the Council's winter maintenance and highway gritting program. Key responsibilities include: (1) Loading and preparing gritting vehicles with road salt for rapid deployment across established service routes; (2) Organizing, stacking, and managing salt supply inventory to optimize storage capacity and ensure safe material handling; (3) Providing secure on-site storage facilities for gritting vehicles and salt supplies to maintain operational readiness; and (4) Supplying welfare amenities for operational staff, including rest areas and washroom facilities. Suppliers should have experience in bulk salt management, vehicle depot operations, and supporting high-demand seasonal services. The successful contractor will ensure efficient coordination of resources to enable immediate response to winter weather conditions.
