Alternative Water Services Tender – Southern Water Supply Contract

Southern Water, a major UK water utility serving 2.5 million households across Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, and the Isle of Wight, is seeking qualified suppliers to provide alternative water services. This is a critical infrastructure contract to ensure continuity of water supply during planned maintenance or emergency situations. Scope: Suppliers may bid for one or more of five lots covering the complete alternative water services supply chain, available 24/7/365 across Southern Water's 10,530km² operational area: • Lot 1: Managed Service Provider – coordination of all services (Lots 2-5) • Lot 2: Bulk Water Tankering & Haulage – clean water transportation, emergency response, network injection, water quality testing, GPS tracking, and optional haulage services • Lot 3: Supply of Bottled Water – sourcing, warehousing, and delivery of palletised bottled water with quality compliance • Lot 4: Bottled Water Delivery – last-mile distribution to customer doorsteps with proof of delivery and hygiene compliance • Lot 5: Bottled Water Station Management – traffic management, security, welfare facilities, waste management, and site preparation Quick Facts: Southern Water supplies 535 million litres daily, operates 90 water treatment works and 368 wastewater facilities, and serves over 4.7 million wastewater customers. Successful bidders must demonstrate capacity to respond rapidly to both planned and emergency situations with full water quality assurance and compliance documentation.
