    Brief

The UK government is seeking a technology partner to develop and operate an online learning platform that will expand the successful CyberFirst programme into the new TechFirst initiative. The platform must serve students aged 11-18 across all UK secondary schools, with content tailored to three age groups (11-14, 14-16, and 16-18). The platform should provide engaging, curriculum-aligned content covering Computing, Computer Science, cyber security, and AI, alongside careers inspiration featuring role models from underrepresented backgrounds in tech. It must support both classroom teaching and independent learning, include annual national competitions, and promote diversity in technology with particular focus on increasing participation from girls and underrepresented groups. The selected supplier must commit to a minimum 3-year partnership, including seamless transition from the current Cyber Explorers platform (which has 128,893 registered learners across 3,375 schools) and support for frontier technologies including Advanced Connectivity, AI, Cyber Security, Engineering Biology, Quantum Technologies, and Semiconductors. The government aims to reach 1 million secondary school students by 2029 and increase uptake of Computer Science qualifications at age 14.
