    Brief

The Electoral Commission is seeking action research projects to improve democratic engagement among deaf people, domestic abuse survivors, young people, and New Scots (recent immigrants to Scotland). This opportunity is part of the Electoral Commission's voter engagement program, which works to increase political literacy, enhance understanding of democratic processes, and boost voter confidence among underrepresented and under-registered groups facing participation barriers. Selected projects will develop and deliver activities and resources addressing topics such as voter registration, voting methods, and recent electoral changes including voter ID requirements. Applicants should review the attached Expression of Interest form for full eligibility criteria, project requirements, and submission guidelines. This is an action research initiative for 2026-27.
